What is ArcView?ArcView 2.1 GIS software is designed to bring desktop mapping to the masses (the average PC user). ArcView was designed for those people who do not regularly use GIS, but need access to spatial information for decision making. The main advantage of using ArcView is the easy to learn user interface. After learning the basics of ArcView, you will be able to query spatial information and create thematic maps to aid in natural and cultural resource management. Although ArcView is "easy" to use, due to its Graphical User Interface (GUI), you must know how to change directories, copy, and remove files in your operating system. That is why it is very important for you to be able to use the Unity environment.
